Proctoring settings control what AutoProctor monitors while a candidate takes a test. They live in the Proctoring section of a test’s Settings.

How to Configure Proctoring

Open the Proctoring Section

Go to your Tests page, click Settings next to the test, and choose Proctoring from the list of sections.

Turn Proctoring On

Turn on the switch at the top right of the Proctoring section. While the switch is Off, nothing is monitored and candidates take the test without proctoring.

Choose What Gets Tracked

Under What gets tracked, turn on the checks you need. Each one is described in the table below.

Add Enhanced Proctoring (Optional)

Under Enhanced proctoring, turn on any extra checks. The badge next to each one shows its cost in credits per attempt.

Choose Who Is Informed

Under Who is informed, choose whether evidence is stored for you and whether the candidate is warned during the test.

Save

Click Save settings.
If the test sends results to a Google Sheet, saving with proctoring Off removes the Sheet link in the After the test section. Results are only sent to a Google Sheet for proctored tests.

Customize the photo prompt

When Photo before test start is on, a Customize the photo prompt switch appears below it. Turn it on to replace the default “Look directly at the camera…” message with your own text, up to 200 characters. Use this to ask candidates to show their ID card in the photo, for example “Please show your face along with your student ID”.

Enhanced Proctoring

Each enhanced option costs extra credits per attempt, on top of the 1 base credit of a proctored attempt. See Enhanced Proctoring for the full setup guide.
The card above the sections shows the total cost, for example 1 credit per attempt. It updates as you change the proctoring options, before you save.

Who Is Informed

These settings control how violation evidence is handled and whether candidates are notified:

Turning off Me, after the test also turns off Photos at random, Photo before test start and Customize the photo prompt. They stay locked until you turn Me, after the test back on, because these photos are stored on the cloud for you to review.
