Try the Demo Test First
AutoProctor requires modern browser technologies to function. Before your actual test, take the demo to confirm your device works.Open the demo test link
Visit the AutoProctor demo test on the device and browser you plan to use for your actual test.
Complete the demo
Follow the on-screen prompts to verify that your camera, microphone, and browser are compatible with AutoProctor.
Troubleshoot if needed
If the demo loads successfully, your assigned test will work too. If the demo loads but your assigned test does not, sign out of all your Google accounts at accounts.google.com/Logout and try again.
If one test loads on your device, all other tests will load too. The demo test is the best way to verify compatibility before your actual test.
Submit Buttons
For non-Socratease quizzes (Google Forms, Microsoft Forms, etc.), there are two submit buttons that you must click in the correct order:- Purple Submit Button (bottom) — click this first to save your answers to the quiz provider
- Green Submit Button (top) — click this second to submit the proctored session to AutoProctor

Socratease quizzes have only one submit button, so there is no risk of answer loss. See Submit Button Differences for details.
Google Account Setup
If you are taking a Google Forms test, follow these steps before opening the test link:Log out of all Google accounts
Visit accounts.google.com/Logout to sign out of every Google account on your device.
Log in with the correct account
Sign back in with the Google account your test administrator specified. This is the account that has permission to access the test form.
Browser and Device Requirements
| Device | Browser | Minimum Version |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone / iPad | Safari | 13+ |
| Windows / Android / Mac | Google Chrome | 83+ |
- Update your browser to the latest version if you are running an older release.
- Your device should ideally be less than 3 years old.
- AutoProctor runs AI algorithms on your camera and audio feeds in real time, which requires significant processing power.
- If your device runs everyday apps well but struggles with AutoProctor, you may need to switch to a more powerful device. AutoProctor demands more processing power than typical websites like YouTube or social media.
If AutoProctor does not work on your device despite following all instructions, you will need to use a different device with better hardware specifications. See Device Compatibility for full details.
