Every question in a Socratease quiz has its own settings for scoring, timing, and behavior. These are separate from the quiz-wide settings covered in Quiz Settings.

Points and Negative Points

Points sets how many points a candidate earns for a correct answer. Negative Points lets you deduct points for an incorrect answer, useful for discouraging random guessing on MCQ and MCA questions. Enter a value manually, or click the calculator icon next to Negative Points to auto-calculate it based on the number of options:
Number of Negative Points = (Number of Points Assigned) / (Number of Options)
For example, an MCQ worth 2 points with 4 options gets 2 ÷ 4 = 0.5 Negative Points.
Auto-calculation is only available for MCQ questions. For MCA questions, enter Negative Points manually.
